The Waldorf
Astoria Boca Raton Resort
by Barry and
Joanne Epstein
Recently
added to the collection of Waldorf Astoria is
one of their finest selections, The Boca Raton
Resort, designed by the legendary Addison Mizner,
with all the excellence and charm to continue
its tale.
A short jaunt from either the West Palm
International Airport and the Hollywood/Ft.
Lauderdale International Airport or just a short
drive for your restful Staycation, the resort is
a favorite for locals from South Florida as well
as travelers to and from within Florida.
Carefully distributed throughout 356 acres of
lush private secluded accommodations, the resort
boasts choices of garden style Bungalows for
your home away from home with its two bedroom
apartments, The Cloister with its 359 guest
rooms in the heart of the resort, the Tower with
its 27 stories and sweeping views of the Ocean
and Intracoastal, The Yacht Club with its
Venetian Palace design overlooking the
waterfront and the marina or The Beach Club
which redefines its modern barefoot excellence
on the ocean. There are fresh complimentary
drinks available daily in all the lobbies to
quench your thirst on these warm days of summer.
There are more than 10 different restaurants and
bars to choose from in the resort. From Luccas
serving Tuscan cuisine to Mormioto with its
Internationally acclaimed Japanese Sushi or a
light snack at the icon inspired Serendipity of
New York, where you can enjoy culinary delights
such as a “Frrozen Hot Chocolate”!
Our choice for residence on this visit was the
newly renovated Beach Club oceanfront Hotel with
its true modern elegance. Entering the front
doors, we were greeted by the soothing waters of
an indoor pond and magnificent views of the
Atlantic Ocean.
Our spacious suite was elegantly decorated with
flowing sheers, magnificent bedding and
comfortable seating in the living room which
could accommodate additional quests if needed.
The soaking tub in the master bath, along with
an unusually large rain shower, added to our
restful stay.
The new Seagrille restaurant, located in the
lobby, offers indoor or outdoor casual dining
with scrumptious selections of fresh fish and
seafood to satisfy any taste.
There are three pools to choose from including a
large children’s pool, located near the fully
equipped cabanas, the family pool with a
charming outdoor restaurant within arms length
and the adult pool slightly off to the side for
that always needed quiet adult time.
The private one half mile beach allows guests
many choices of beach or ocean fun.
Now it’s time for Spa Palazzo which was an
inspiration designed from the legendary Alhambra
Palace in Spain, surrounded by magnificent
gardens, handcrafted mosaics, stone archways,
exquisite marble, not to mention the magnificent
woodwork. Both the men and women’s lounges begin
with tea or other drinks of your choice and
selections of fruit. You are then guided to a
steam, sauna and inhalation room, after which is
centered by the Ritual Bath that consists of
several mineral baths and all that you could
imagine would go with it, along with Swiss and
waterfall showers and a whirlpool spa that can
not be missed to continue your experience.
Almost an hour later, we were guided into one of
48 private treatment rooms where we chose one of
many different selections of massages performed
by the most experienced team of professionals.
Several coed lounges, sunning terraces, and a
Great Room with a grand fireplace await us for a
few minutes of continued relaxation following
our massage. Finish your experience in an
outdoor spa pool with underwater music and
waterfall whirlpools, truly an experience to
remember and enjoy again and again.
A short delightful boat ride can take you to
either side of the resort along with the
standard shuttle, so you can just park your car
and forget it until the unfortunate time that
you have to leave.
There are so many special packages available to
entice you to do what we did and get away for
that long weekend to get refreshed and
rejuvenated.
Call 888.543-1277 for your reservations. You
will be delighted!
